Agus Djaya Art for Sale and Sold Prices

His full name Agus Djaya Suminta. Born in Banten in 1913 from an aristocratic family Banten. Known as other Indonesian painters brother, Otto Djaya, both as a child has a good education.

Working together with S. Sudjojono forming Persatoean Picture Experts Indonesia (Persagi) in the year 1938 to 1942, and sat as chairman at that time. During the occupation he headed the Art Section of the Cultural Centre (Bunka Keimin Sidosho) and then worked in the organization Putera (Pusat Tenaga Rakyat). During the Revolution Agus Djaya is a colonel in the Indonesian army. For nearly four years Agus Djaya was in Holland as a messenger "cultural diplomacy" of the newly formed Government of Indonesia, to approach and accelerating the Dutch government recognizes the sovereignty of Indonesia. Over in the Netherlands, Agus Djaya attending the Rijks Academie Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam and studied journalism at the Faculty of Journalism, Universiteit Amsterdam (1947-1949).

1950 Agus Djaya returned to Indonesia he was doing some kind of business, one of which opened an art shop and gallery in Jakarta. 1955, Agus Djaya settled with his wife in Bali, set up his studio in the Kuta Beach area. In addition to the exhibition in Indonesia, is also exhibited in the Netherlands and Brazil. 1994 received the Art Prize of the Government of Indonesia. Agus Djaya died in Jakarta in 1994.
