DIETZER, August Wilhelm (1763-1836). Pair of portraits of Ysbrand de Kock (1781-1868) and his wife Josina Geb(p)ke van Geuns (1778-1852). 1815. 2 pastel drawings on paper. 300 x 248 mm each. Mounted on glass, in 19th c. frames under glass, with oak tailboards. Fine pastel portraits in fine condition, dated "Augustus 1815" within a heart-shaped label on tailboards and annotated "Door Dietser". Also with later added genealogical annotations about the portrayed. Dietzer was a Swiss portrait painter and miniaturist, active mainly in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Some 53 pastels in private and public collections are listed in the RKD files. Josina Gepke van Geuns was the youngest daughter of Matthias van Geuns, professor of medicine at Groningen University.
