      ▲ Louis de Wet (South African-British, 1930-2018) 'Vampire: Have You A Room To Let?' signed with monogram, and inscribed 'Louis de Wet drew this in 1966 in hommage [sic] to Transylvania and Africa', pen and Chinese ink on paper, with blind stamp paper 40 x 28cm, in a feather-mounted ebonised frame, 70 x 60cm, in a further gilt frame, 87.5 x 76.5cm overall Provenance: By repute purchased from George Lucas. Louis De Wet was born in South Africa, but always felt more of an affinity with his family's European roots. He left South Africa in his early twenties and never returned, living first in Paris, before taking British citizenship and settling in London. He studied in Paris at Académie de la Grande Chaumière, 1953-56, and at the Academy of Art in Vienna, 1969-71, under Rudolf Hausner. Condition Report: Staining to the paper, mount and knocks to the frames.
