Gouache, the framing line in pen and black ink and with grey gouached margins. Titled in white pen in lower margin, signed in black pen lower left: Camillo de Vito. 34.5 x 47 cm. Framed. The fresh-coloured vedute fully laid on backing board. With discreet foxing predominantly in the upper half of the image. Individual insignificant areas of rubbing within the image. The grey gouached margins with few rubbed areas and traces of wear. --------------- ITALIEN - NEAPEL.- CAMILLO DE VITO (im 18/19. Jh. tätig) Nächtlicher Ausbruch des Vesuv im Jahr 1832. "Inverno del Vesuvio del 1832". Gouache, die Einfassungslinie mit schwarzer Feder und grau gouachierten Rändern. Im unteren Rand mittig mit weisser Feder betitelt, unten links mit schwarzer Feder signiert: Camillo de Vito. 34,5 x 47 cm. Gerahmt. Die farbfrische Vedute ist ganzflächig auf Unterlagenkarton aufgezogen. Überwiegend in der oberen Bildhälfte dezente Stockflecken. Einzelne unbedeutende Bereibungen innerhalb der Darstellung. Die grau gouachierten Rändern mit wenigen Bereibungen und Gebrauchsspuren.

Juli 1794 verschüttete ein Lavastrom des Vesuvs das nahe Neapel gelegene Städtchen Torre del Greco.

An der oberen Kante unter schwarzem Passepartout montiert u. unter Glas gerahmt (vereinzelt mit schwachen Öberflächenbereibungen, linke Bildhälfte etwas fleckig bzw. wasserfleckig. Die oberen Ecken mit kl. Fehlstellen, am unteren u. oberen Rand partiell mit tls. hinterlegten kurzen Randeinrissen). Farbfrische Darstellung eines der zahlreichen Vesuvausbrüche mit Figuren- und Boots-staffage im Vordergrund, die Camillo de Vito gefertigt hat.
