The present figure of an elephant with a rock crystal obelisk on the back reveals these artistic roots on the one hand and their combination with Devecchi's interest in design on the other. The charm of the figure lies in the combination of different materials and in the unusual shape, which opens appealing prospects on every side. The statue is in good condition, showing light wear. The height is 44.5 cm and the base measures 11.5 x 11 x 9 cm. Gabriele Devecchi (1938-2011) Born in Milan, Gabriele Devecchi was influenced decisively by his father, a sculptor and etcher, through whom he came in contact with the modernity of the pre- and post-war period, especially with Futurism and the industrial design.
