An Exhibition, New York Botanical Garden, April 2007). - Die Tafeln mit prachtvollen Darstellungen exotischer Blumen und Früchte. - Fehlt Titel, Bibl. Stempel auf Innendeckel u. Einleitung, wenige Tafeln mit kleinem Wasserrand an rechter Außenseite, leicht fingerfleckig, wenige minimale Bereibungen, insgesamt sehr schönes Exemplar in dekorativem Handeinband. A very rare pictorial survey of the most spectacular flowers, fruit, trees, vines and nuts, that grow in the tropical regions of America. - The work is very rare and seldom found complete with what appears to be a maximum of 201 plates. - Huntington Library copy contains only 72 plates (the same number recorded by Great Flower Books). - Contemp. red leather with floral decorated boards in black and gold, richly gilt-stamped spine and gilt edges (signed: Boell) (somewhat rubbed and bumped, occ. slight chafing). - Without title, inner board and foreword with library stamp, some plates with small waterstain at right outer margin, minor fingerstaining, some minimal chafings, overall nice copy in decorative hand-made binding.

PARIS: BY THE AUTHOR, C.1843-1846 First edition , broadsheets (487 x 322 mm.), 126 hand-coloured lithographed plates (only, of 201) after Denisse by Gihout frères and Denisse, numbered 1-126, first 72 plates loose, the others stitched or loose in original pictorial or plain fascicle wrappers, the whole contained in a contemporary half maroon morocco portfolio, red half morocco clamshell case, lacking 25 plates, plate 117 with a repaired tear at lower margin into image, scattered inconsequential very short marginal tears or tiny marginal chips, some scattered light foxing, more severe on about 9 plates, several plates browned, wrappers a bit chipped and frayed, the portfolio slightly rubbed at extremities, ties lost
