**Originally Listed At $300** Yargo de Lucca (German Canadian, 1925-2008). "Canada Suite" series, 1976-1977. A wonderful trio of hand-signed and hand-numbered Inuit-inspired serigraphs by German Canadian artist Yargo de Lucca, presenting various forms of Canadian fauna - birds and mammals - each in a brilliant color palette - a bird of prey with a spotted giraffe in vermilion, olive, and black; a burroughing long-tailed animal assuming an endearing curled up pose in blue and plum surrounded by orange earth, and three Canadian Geese swooping up in the sky toward the sun in orange, russet, and teal - with his signature Abstract Surrealist style. Serigraphy is a medium that many Contemporary artists embraced - including Andy Warhol, Peter Max, and LeRoy Neiman - and it has existed for more than 100 years. De Lucca certainly was in good company! Size of sheets: 18.5" L x 14.5" W (47 cm x 36.8 cm) Yargo de Lucca was born in Kassel, Germany in 1925. He studied in Frankfurt, Munich as well as the Stuttgart Academy of Art with mentor Willi Baumeister. In 1951, de Lucca moved to Canada and became a Canadian citizen. He would eventually divide his time between his studios in Alternhein am Bodensee, Switzerland and Deux Montagnes, Canada. He also lived and worked in Alicante, Spain for a time. De Lucca's work has been collected in major museums and collections including: Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Santa Barbara Museum of Art; Art Institute of Chicago; New Orleans Museum of Art; Musee des beaux-arts de Montreal; Musee national des beaux-arts du Quebec; National Gallery of Canada; Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo; Gezira Center for Modern Art; Pushkin Museum; Tel Aviv Museum of Art; Tate Gallery, London UK; Louisiana Museum of Modern Art; Moderna Museet; Stedelijk Museum; Museum Folkwang; Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna; Musee National d'Art Moderne, Paris France; Kunstmuseum St. Gallen; Vancouver Art Gallery; and Dominion Gallery Montreal. Yargo de Lucca (German Canadian, 1925-2008).
