De Latour 1822’ Dimensions: 46 x 55 cm Frame: 62 x 70.5 cm Very good condition Charming genre depiction of a visit at the cake shop; the painting reveals the painter’s great artistic skills and surprises by its richness in details Object is regular taxed. 19% VAT is added to the purchase price for deliveries within the EU. Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 4,000 Euro Condition: The painting is in good condition, consistent with age. The paint surface has been retouched along the right edge. Inspection under UV light reveals very fine old retouchings along the craquelured parts, especially in the lower part of the depiction. The stretcher measures 46 x 55 cm and the frame 62 x 70.5 cm. Élisabeth Marie De Latour (1750-1834) Élisabeth Marie De Latour, née Simons, was a Flemish painter and engraver. Born in Brussels, she was not only very popular there, but also in Paris. Furthermore, she was a member of the academies in Antwerp and Amsterdam. Her work includes still lifes and portraits, as well as anecdotal genre scenes. Paintings by Élisabeth Marie De Latour are today preserved, for instance, at the Koninklijk Museum in Antwerp and the Staatliche Museen, Berlin.
