Rare and important pair of Joanine seraphs, from the first half of the 18th century, attibutable to Marceliano de Araújo (c.1690 - 1769) or to his school. Large sculptures in polychrome and golden wood. The figures are standing, with the head slightly leaning with long wavy hair, on a contemplative posture. Wearing long tunics with tight corsets, short sleeves and cloaks on the arms. Original polychrome slightly worn, focus on the golden and red tones of the corsets. Stand on rectangular bases with cut corners. Aprox. height:: 189 cm.
