        Larry Day | After Poussin

        Est: $200 - $400

A pen and Ink drawing on paper by Philadelphia artist Larry Day (1921-1998) depicting a Roman procession with a man carrying a larger than life head on a pole. The work is signed at the lower right corner in ink. The title “After Poussin” possibly refers to the French artist Nicolas Poussin (1594-1665) who lived and worked primarily in Rome. Condition: Good to Very Good. In the upper left are two lines of white paint (apparently corrections by the artist) that have darkened with age. They measure 1.25 x 0.5 in and 4 x 0.25-0.5 in. Not examined out of frame.
