SHE WAS THE FIRST WIFE OF RICHARD HARDING DAVIS, THE FAMOUS WAR CORRESPONDENT AND AUTHOR. SHE RECEIVED HIS ENGAGEMENT RING FROM EUROPE VIA MESSENGER, AND THEIR WEDDING WAS THE MOST CELEBRATED OF THE EARLY 20TH C, AND TOOK PLACE IN MARION, MA AT ST GABRIEL'S CHURCH. SHE WON NUMEROUS AWARDS AND ACCOLADES FROM VARIOUS PAINTING SOCIETIES.) KNOWN PRIMARILY FOR PORTRAITURE, THIS WORK WAS LIKELY DONE BY HER IN HER LATER YEARS, AFTER SHE MOVED TO CA.
