CONTACT US SKU#: 119548 US Shipping $49 + insurance. BIOGRAPHY: He was born on Feb.5 1932 and passed away on April 1 1982. He started painting at the age of fourteen years old. After finishing school he worked in his father's landscaping business but painting was his dream and biggest desire. At some point he left working for his father to pursue painting for a living. He went to art school and was taught by one of the group of seven, Arthur Lismer. He was able to put paintings in small galleries in Montreal where he was born and lived. At some point his mother opened a gallery on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal. She ran and was very successful selling his paintings at Davies House of Paintings for twenty five years. She closed after and decided to try a gallery in Kingston Ontario but was not able to make it there mostly because of strong competition.Through these years, he did many many art shows in New England and had very good success selling as well as winning many awards at the shows. He also ran a gallery in Wellfleet on Cape Cod Mass. for three years. He always managed to sell his paintings somewhere or some way to make a living for himself. Never a rich living but enough to survive and send his wife money when he could after they separated and years later divorced. He always did his best to make as much as he could by trying different types of painting through the years as well as doing wood carving and many types of crafts also. When he passed away he was selling his paintings to a gallery in Quebec.
