Karin Davie (Canadian, b.1965), is a Contemporary abstract artist who was born in Toronto, Canada. Davie graduated with a BFA from Queen’s University, Ontario, in 1987, and got her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1989. After school, Davie moved to New York, where she began showing her work. At his time, she was exploring movement and gesture in painting with works such as her In Out In Out series (1992) and her Odalisque series (1993). In 1998, Davie appeared in the group show Projects 63 at The Museum of Modern Art with Udomsak Krisanamis, Bruce Pearson, and Fred Tomaselli.
