          THREE NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN CRINOLINE FIGURES OF A LADY WITH FAN, 'DAME IM REIFROCK MIT FACHER' AND A NYMPHENBURG PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUP OF A GALLANT AND COMPANION The first circa 1900, the others 20th Century, blue painted and impressed Bavarian shield marks to bases and undersides of most, incised and impressed numerals. 44, 7 and 195, 7 twice and l, 70 and 7 after the models by Joseph Ponhauser and Franz Anton Bustelli, the first, depicted standing and gazing to the left, holding a fan in her left hand and a rose in her right, her bodice with three large blue bows, her pannier skirt with scattered flower sprays and an incised yellow ribbon, the underskirt in puce, on a flat hexagonal base edged in gilt; the second, slightly larger, in the white; the third, depicted standing and gazing to the right, holding a fan in her right hand and a pleat of her skirt in her left, her bodice with applied flowers, her green pannier skirt painted with roses and gilt lace, on a flat hexagonal base; and the figure group, depicted as a lady in red and yellow bodice and green-lined floral overskirt seated beside a rocaille-molded pedestal, and an approaching gallant in black jacket and puce pantaloons - h: 7 1/8 in., the tallest (4) Provenance: Estate of Ronald Sperling Literature: In the mid-18th century, Joseph Ponhauser was a modeler and enamel painter at the Nymphenburg manufactory. From 1754 to 1755, he was responsible for the design and execution of a large table centerpiece for the proxy marriage of the Bavarian Princess Maria Anna Josepha Augusta, the sister of Prince Elector Max Joseph, to Margrave Ludwig Georg of Baden on 10 July 1755. Franz Anton Bustelli worked on the commission with Ponhauser until his departure in 1755 and replaced him as model master. The complex surtout-de-table was formed on a plate glass mirror as a miniature baroque pleasure garden filled with elegant ladies and court gentleman, to whom trumpeting angels announced the glorious news of the marriage.
