    PEPE DÁMASO (Canary Islands, 1933). Untitled, 1992. Pair of serigraphs, copy P.A. Signed and justified by hand. Size: 81 x 55 cm (each). From 1951 he took part in group exhibitions starting in Agaete and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but his individual exhibitions began in the 1960s, exhibiting at the Instituto de Estudios Hispánicos in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife). Later he exhibited at the Sala del Prado del Ateneo in Madrid and at the Henning Larsens Kunsthandel, Copenhagen. In 1966 he takes part in the First International Festival of Black Arts, Dakar, Senegal and an exhibition at the Modern Art Gallery, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A year later in 1967 he exhibits at the Seiquer Gallery in Madrid. During the following years he continues to hold more exhibitions, one of them in Homage to Óscar Domínguez, he also exhibits at the Galería Lolas Velasco in Madrid and takes part in the I Bienal Internacional del Deporte en las Bellas Artes, Palacio del Buen Retiro, Madrid. In the 1970s he exhibited at the Ten Gallery in Barcelona, at the XXXV Venice Biennial, "Alcances 70" in Cadiz. He continues with multiple exhibitions in Madrid and Barcelona, and even takes part in the II International Drawing Exhibition in Yugoslavia. In 1974 he founds and inaugurates, together with César Manrique, the Polidimensional Centre.

Pepe Dámaso's studies in drawing and painting began in 1954 at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios Artísticos in Madrid. In 1955 he entered the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría, Seville. From 1951 he took part in group exhibitions starting in Agaete and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but his individual exhibitions began in the 1960s, exhibiting at the Instituto de Estudios Hispánicos in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife).
