Pfannebecker Collection Artist Biography Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1950, Courier received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1972 and her MFA from the University of Washington, Seattle in 1974. She taught ceramics at the University of Colorado, Boulder from 1975-1984. From 1984 until 2016, Courier served as a professor of ceramics at the New York State College of Ceramics, School of Art and Design at Alfred University. In 2016 she was recognized as professor emerita upon her retirement. Courier’s work can be found in numerous private and public collections including: The State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the Museum of Contemporary Art – Kyung-ju, South Korea. Very good; no chips, cracks, or repairs; areas of light surface wear commensurate with long-term display.
