    Marion Osborne Cunningham (1908-1948) American, Serigraph. Depicting San Francisco Harbor. 1944 Serigraph. Signed in the lower left. Label on the back "Gumps, San Francisco". Marion Cunningham is known for Serigraphs, lithographs, painting and crafts, cable car scenes. Marion Osborn Cunningham was born in South Bend, Indiana on May 29, 1908. The Osborn family moved west shortly after Marion was born and settled in Bakersfield, California. From Bakersfield High School, she attended Santa Barbara Junior College followed by art studies at Stanford University, Art Students League in New York City, and California School of Fine Arts. As the wife of artist Ben Cunningham, she was active in San Francisco's art scene and exhibited in local shows. During the 1930s she began producing silk screen prints. Working in what had been a speakeasy at 338 Clay Street, she turned out more than 20,000 serigraphs and 75,000 greeting card copies.
