      John Wilton Cunningham (American/Missouri, d. 1903) "Bust Portrait of a Lady Wearing a Pink Dress and Flowing Lace Collar with Applied Raven Wings", oil on canvas, signed lower left "J. Wilton Cunningham", 30-1/4" x 25-1/4". Presented in a period molded giltwood frame with elaborately carved foliate accents. Reference: Benezit Note: Born in St. Louis, Cunningham later studied at the Fine Arts School as well as at the Academie Julien in Paris. He is best known for his figural portraits and won a prize at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1890.
