Born in London in 1907, artist Terence Cuneo was the son of two illustrators who gave him his first lessons in art. He later studied at the Chelsea School of Art and the Slade School before becoming an illustrator himself. Cuneo served as an official war artist during World War II, which sparked his interest in painting rather than drawing.
