BIOGRAPHY: Francesc Coradel Cugat is a painter that was born in Barcelona, Spain on May 24, 1893. Cugat studied art in France at Rheims and at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. During the 1920s he had residences in both Spain and Hollywood, CA. His symbolic paintings of landscapes, portraits, and towns, which were exhibited in Spain, Hollywood, and New York, were well received by the press in the 1920s. He died in Westport, CT in July 1981. He was the brother of band leader, Xavier Cugat, and the husband of artist Ruth C. Wadler. Member: Painters & Sculptors of LA.     Francesc Coradel Cugat (Spain, New York, California 1893 - 1981) signed etching. Signed 'FCoradel Cugat' in pencil lower right. Number '2/50' in pencil lower left. Title 'Richard Wagner' in pencil beneath number. Measures 13.75-in. x 9.625-in. sheet size. Image in VG/EX condition with some spotting in margins, largest spot resembling a finger-print over part of artist signature (signature still legible). Measures 8.875-in. x 6.375-in. for image window cut in mat. Unframed, with custom mat (14-in. x 11-in.) or mats from archival materials. All matted prints are either hinge mounted or secured with mylar corners. None are glued to mat. If lot is absent of a condition report a condition report may be requested via email. Condition report is provided as an opinion only and is no guarantee as grading can be subjective.
