    GEORGE CRUIKSHANK (1792 - 1878) English illustrator and engraver whose work appeared in several of Dickens' classics. Superb association A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., [n.p., n.d.] "Thursday" to Charles Dickens concerning an illustration: "Forget all about the title to the illustration of Barkers paper -- I think if you fill up the Blank at the bottom with the factors[?] name it will be all that is required." Endorsed on the verso by CHARLES DICKENS who writes, "George Cruikshank Esqr." Matted and framed with the original transmittal envelope addressed in Cruikshank's hand and two engravings of Cruikshank's illustrative work. Folds small tear at bottom just grazing Cruikshank's signature, else very good overall. Not examined out of frame.
