      fresco laid on canvas, applied on wood, without frame The work was originally located in the Room known as the Consoni or the four Poets, on the top floor of Palazzo Bolognetti-Torlonia. Originally the painting was oval in shape. PROVENANCE Palazzo Torlonia, Rome, until about 1900; bought by the Neapolitan merchant Francesco Tancredi and with him until 1902-1903;  arrived in the collection of the Countess Amalia Canonica in the 1920s and by inheritance to the current owners.
