        Hepplewhite Period Inlaid Mahogany Tilt-Top Candlestand, attributed to Langley Boardman (Portsmouth, NH, 1774-1833), having a crossbanded and string inlaid top, turned beehive form stem, and set on string inlaid spider legs, with original iron latch, 27 7/8" high (40 1/4"), 21 3/4" x 14 1/2". Top edge chip, veneer cracks, surface wear.

Wostenholm & son/ Washington Works, with an engraved eagle (reminiscent of the great seal of the US) I * XL and within a ribbon engraving marked "The real I * XL Knife" then The Hunters Companion and again the makers marked on the ricasso. Fantastic forged Quillon guard, 9 1/2" steel blade, inlaid silver buffalo horn grips fancy nickel silver cross guard 3 1 1/4" weighs 1 lb. 5 oz Provenance: The Kasman Native American & Western Collection, Ventura County, California.
