Harold Clayton Art for Sale at Auction

Painter, Holzstecher

Artist Harold Clayton was born in 1896 into a family of artists, and he studied art in Hackney at a young age. Graduating with distinction from Hackney and Harrow Art Schools, Clayton went onto study graphic design and commercial art at Hornsey College of Art. Painter Harold Clayton studied under Norman Jones, who had a lasting impact on Clayton's work. The accuracy and substance of artist Harold Clayton's oil paintings led to several exhibitions throughout his career at the Royal Academy, London. He mostly painted exquisite still life images of colorful, detailed flowers in vases. It's this realism that Harold Clayton's still life paintings exhibit, and his Roses, clematis, lavatera, and pansies in an urn, which sold at Christie's in 2013 for over $15,000, amply displays this characteristic. Discover captivating still life paintings to add natural beauty to your collection.
