      Pencil on paper Germany, 1922 Martin Claus, German painter Signed lower left “Martin Claus” Provenance: From an extensive Düsseldorf private collection Overall dimensions 30 x 24 cm Very good condition This very fine pencil drawing by the German painter and illustrator Martin Claus shows an illustrious group of two men and women at a park. While the two women seem to almost disappear underneath their broad-rimmed heads, the men are equipped with monocle and gaiters. Martin Claus, who worked as an illustrator for the satire magazine “The Meggendorfer Blätter” addressed with his work the decadence of the 20s and 30s. The pencil drawing is in very good condition. It is signed lower left “Martin Claus”. The overall dimensions are 30 x 24 cm. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
