        Virginia Keep Clark (IL, 1878-1962), Portrait acrylic on canvas, charming full length portrait of a child, Jane McLennan Ober (1937-2010), signed lower left and dated 1939. Housed under glass and presented in gold tone cove molded frame. Virginia Hynson Keep Clark recieved her training at the Indiana School of Art, the Arts Student League of New York, and the Chase School or art. Her early work is that of an illustrator, but she is best known as a portrait painter whose subjects include President Benjamin Harrison's daughter, Elizabeth, the artist Charles Prendergast, and Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor, among others. The sitter of this portrait, Jane McLennan Ober, was the daughter of prominent Donald Roderick McLennan, co-founder of Marsh & McLennan of Illinois. SS 39 x 24 in.; DOA 44 x 29 in. Jane Mclennan Ober and by descent to her daughter, Katherine Noyes Maclennan.
