          Cal. 54. NSN. Bbl. 4 3/4" of Twist steel w/ platinum bands & engraving at breech end. Top flat marked "FINE TWIST". Bottom of bbl. has British proofs. Engraved back action lock marked "R.S. CLARK". Semi circular front sight w/ V notch rear sight. Key fastened walnut stock w/ checkering at wrist having engraved iron trigger guard & faceted finial. German silver fittings include trapdoor buttcap, nosecap & key escutcheons. Replacement wooden ramrod held on shortened under rib by solder attached replacement brass pipe. CONDITION: metal has cleaned gray color w/ spots of pitting. Stock is broken through wrist, lock & sideplate areas having added wood w/ repair accomplished by nail attached German silver plate on left side & top of wrist. Stock is refinished w/ thinned checkering. Tang screw is replacement. Dark bore w/ spots of pitting. (01-14065/DS). ANTIQUE. $700-1000.
