William M. Churchill, Jr. (Born 1936) "Chief Wolf Robe, Cheyenne" Carved Wood Sculpture. Bill was born in Texas and grew up in the hey-day of Western stars like Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. As a child, playing in the plains of the Texas, Bill expected to find old guns or saddles of dead outlaws behind every sagebrush. Instead, he found a love of the Western way of life. Bill prefers to work with Honduras mahogany, black walnut and jelutong because he loves the natural beauty of wood. After twenty years as a wood sculptor, this love has turned to a relentless passion. Bill’s goal is to create wood sculpture that showcases the beauty of wood and tells our Western Americana story.
