His interest in photography and painting developed at a young age, and early in his career he worked as a photographer for the French government. He travelled extensively for his job, and lived for periods in Europe, the United States and Tokyo. It was during this time that his interest in Pop art and recycled waste products began, and he decided to create his Pop World Project. With paint as his primary medium for his works, he is able to combine his love of fine art and photography. Charlier currently lives and works in the United States.
