      MOSES CHAPMAN (AMERICAN, 1783-1821) CUT-AND-PASTED SILHOUETTE OF A MOTHER AND CHILD, subjects seated in a Classical-style side chair, the child in the mother's lap, signed "M. Chapman" lower right and inscribed "Henrietta Albertson and daughter Sarah aged 2 yrs." at lower edge. Housed under glass in a period veneered frame. Probably Massachusetts. Circa 1820. 10 1/8" x 6 1/8" sight, 13 1/2" x 9 1/2" OA.

      PAIR OF MOSES CHAPMAN (AMERICAN, 1783-1821) FOLK ART HOLLOW-CUT SILHOUETTES, each with embossed "CHAPMAN / Siccauit" blindstamp at lower edge, housed under glass in a period molded gilt wood frame, retaining old typed label verso identifying sitters and indicating provenance from the "Maurier Collection" in 1948. Together with a period printed handbill advertising Chapman's services, framed. Three pieces total. Probably Massachusetts.

      TWO AMERICAN HOLLOWCUT SILHOUETTES, paper, depicting a lady and a gentlemen, each inked "Unknown - 1808" below image, frame backing papers inscribed "Cut by Moses Chapman of Danvers in 1808. He was ancestor to Mrs. Thorndike Hawkes. Bought of her in Dec. 1927." Later frames. Attributed to Moses Chapman (1783-1821).
