      • An Evelyn Chapman Original (1888-1961) - "The Red Geranium"
        Oct. 30, 2021

An Evelyn Chapman Original (1888-1961) - "The Red Geranium"

        Est: $200 - $400

An Evelyn Chapman Original (1888-1961) - "The Red Geranium" Please google her. This is a very good and notable artwork. Evelyn Chapman was the first female artist to depict the devastated battle fields, churches and towns of the western front after the First World War. She was taught in Paris and England and has seven paintings in the NSW Art Gallery, and even J.F. Archibald (who the Archibald Prize is named after) bought one of her self portraits. She still even has a number of her battlefield paintings on exhibit in the War Memorial. This is a sleeper... you are nuts if you don't bid on this !! The framed work measures 48cm by 37cm (not inc Frame)
