      Nantes, 1842 - 1918 Bagnante Firmato A J Chantron in basso a sinistra Olio su tela, cm 82X65,5 L'artista ritrae, attraverso pennellate intrise di sensualità, una giovane ragazza immersa in un paesaggio verdeggiante e rigoglioso. Chantron inizia la sua carriera dipingendo ritratti e nature morte, per poi dedicarsi principalmente allo studio dei nudi, realizzati secondi lo stile di Bouguereau, mentre sperimenta contemporaneamente la nascente tecnologia fotografica dell'epoca. Molte delle sue opere traggono ispirazione dal movimento dell'estetismo, concentrandosi sulla bellezza e sui temi classici, spesso facendo riferimento alla mitologia e alla natura. I suoi dipinti trasudano una qualità raffinata e sensuale, con toni morbidi e un trattamento delicato di luce e ombra. Allievo di François-Édouard Picot, Tony Robert-Fleury e William-Adolphe Bouguereau, debutta al Salon di Parigi nel 1877, ottenendo una menzione d'onore nel 1893. Espone, inoltre, il dipinto Fleurs de printemps al Salon nel 1895, riceve una medaglia al Salon del 1899 e una nel 1902 per il dipinto Feuilles Mortes. Bibliografia di riferimento: E. Artista francese, Chantron inizia la sua carriera dipingendo ritratti e nature morte, per poi dedicarsi principalmente allo studio dei nudi, realizzati seguendo lo stile di Bouguereau, mentre sperimenta contemporaneamente la nascente tecnologia fotografica dell'epoca. Allievo di François-Édouard Picot, Tony Robert-Fleury e William-Adolphe Bouguereau, debutta al Salon di Parigi nel 1877, ottenendo una menzione d'onore nel 1893.       Nantes, 1842 - 1918 Donna con il bilboquet Firmato AJ Chantron in basso a sinistra Olio su tela, cm 195X95 Esposizioni: Salon de Société des Artistes Français et Société des Beaux-Arts, Parigi, 1895, catalogo p. 26 Artista francese, Chantron iniziò la sua carriera artistica dipingendo ritratti e nature morte, dedicandosi in seguito soprattutto allo studio di nudi, che realizzava alla maniera di Bouguereau, mentre sperimentava parallelamente la nascente tecnologia fotografica dell'epoca. Fu allievo di François-Édouard Picot, Tony Robert-Fleury e William-Adolphe Bouguereau. Entrò al Salon di Parigi nel 1877, e ottenne una menzione d'onore nel 1893. Espose poi Fleurs de printemps al Salon nel 1895, dove gli fu assegnata una medaglia di terza classe nel 1899 e una medaglia di seconda classe nel 1902 per il dipinto Feuilles Mortes. L'opera qui presentata, intrisa di romanticismo e sensualità, ritrae una giovane donna all'interno dello studio dell'artista intenta a giocare al bilboquet, in gran voga in Francia dal XVI al XIX secolo.
