Comenzó trabajando de pastor y arriero. En 1928 tomó cursos de arte dirigidos por Gabriel Fernández Ledesma en San Pablo en la Ciudad de México. A pesar de que su trabajo llegó al Pabellón de México en Sevilla, pocas de sus obras sobreviven en la actualidad.
