      A STANDING NUDE, ENTITLED VOLUPTÉ measurements note 98.5cm., 38 1/4 in. signed: J. Cassaigne and entitled VOLUPTÉ white marble NOTE Cassaigne was a pupil of Jean-Alexandre-Joseph Falguière, Antonin Mercié and Jules Labatut. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and became a sociétaire. Cassaigne obtained an honorable mention Salon of 1897 and in 1901 and won a third class medal in 1907. He excelled in allegorial and genre themes and the present sensuous marble nude is typical of his oeuvre. RELATED LITERATURE Benezit, vol.3, p.327
