        Egidio Casagrande (Italian, 1911-1943) attributed hammered copper tall vase, now mounted as a lamp, the underside inscribed illegibly and "NY ... / 75 vol..." the elongated baluster form vase with oval punts to sides, the neck similarly decorated, the whole on a flaring round circular base (drilled). 32" H x 5.5" in diameter.

        Egidio Casagrande (Attr) Hammered Brass Vase

        Attributed to Egidio Casagrande (Italian, 1911-1962), a hammered brass spheriform vase in hammered brass, 9.5" H x 10" diameter Note: Egidio Casagrande worked in brass and copper. Born in Borgo Valsugana, Italy, in the northern province of Trento (August 28, 1911), he died there (June 11, 1962). At thirteen he was apprenticed in the workshop of Luigi Taddei, specializing in the production of copper. In 1937 he moved to Milan where he opened a workshop for the production of bass and copper objects known for their sculptural qualities.

Künstlerinfo: Egidio Casagrande (1911 Borgo/ Italien - 1962 ebenda), italienischer Bildhauer, lernte unter Luigi Taddei, Schwerpunkt Kupfer, arbeitete in Mailand, zog aber später zurück in seine Heimat Borgo, seine Arbeiten sind unter anderem bekannt, weil sie in Hollywood-Filmen (Ben Hur (1959), Der Untergang des Römischen Reiches (1964) und Die Zehn Gebote (1956)) als Requisiten eingesetzt wurden.
