CARSE (19th century, Great Britain?), Views of Brussels with Castle, Cathedral and City Hall, 1865, steel engraving Inscription: Inscribed below the images in the printing plate: "Bruxelles", "Published for the Proprietors by A.H.Payne Dresden & Leipzig". Dated on the right in pencil by another hand to "1865". On the reverse side is mounted an old newspaper article with the caption "Brussels. For this a steel engraving" mounted. Description: Artful compilation of architectural views in Brussels, grouped around a city veduta seen from a nearby country road, each framed by sweeping rocaille decoration. To be seen, each with French title in the printing plate: Park Theater, Park, Royal Palace, Saint Michel and Saint Gudula Cathedral, Royal Palace in Laken and City Hall Hôtel de Ville on the Grand Place.
