Signed at lower left and also on reverse, "Auxiliary Fireman Leslie Carr." Carr served in the Auxiliary Fire Service during World War II, and is noted for creating posters for British Railways. One of many British rail posters created by Carr, this elevated shore scene of "one of Dorset's beauty spots" charmingly brings to life the relaxed vibrancy of Branksome Dene Chine beach. The large structure in the middle is the community house, still standing today.
