Painting has been relined. Frame: 31 1/2 x 36 1/2 x 2 3/4 in.

      William Carlton Cider Making c. 1855 oil on canvas 20.25 h × 24.25 w in (51 × 62 cm) Provenance: Shannon's, 20 October 2005, Lot 95 Exhibited: All Hallow's Eve, 18 September - 4 November 2012, Cahoon Museum of American Art, Cotuit, MA condition: Unmarked. Work has been lined and is in good overall condition with craquelure throughout which appears to have been stablized. Small areas of inpainting throughout with largest areas at lower right corner and lower edge below cider press. Five areas of paint loss along extreme edges with largest two being located at upper left corner. Framed without glazing measuring 25 x 30 inches.
