      SUSAN RUTH CANTON SPELTER SCULPTURE (British, 1849-1932) "Hebe," the Greek goddess of youth. Inscribed "SR Canton" and dated 1896, also inscribed "Executed in Paris, The Art Union of London." On a marble plinth. The sculpture and plinth is 12" high overall.

      um 1900, auf Plakette am Sockel sign. "S. Ruth Canton" und bez. "The Dancer" (Die Tänzerin), Bronze bräunlich patiniert, Darstellung einer grazilen Tänzerin in der Bewegung, mit den Armen ihr fließendes Kleid schwungvoll zur Seite raffend, den Körper elegant nach hinten geneigt, auf flachem, polygonalem Onyxsockel verschraubt, dieser bestoßen, dazu schwarzer loser Steinsockel mit Plakette, H ges. 30 cm. Künstlerinfo: engl. Bildhauerin, stellte zw. 1880 und 1920 an der Royal Academy, der Royal Society of British Artists, der Society of Women Artists und in versch.
