Pablo Cano (Havana b. 1961) . Oil on canvas, 87 x 65 inches This piece was originally the backdrop for Ballet Concerto's Nutcracker in 1984

        Est: $1,000 - $2,000

Pablo Cano (Havana b. 1961) . Oil on canvas, 87 x 65 inches This piece was originally the backdrop for Ballet Concerto's Nutcracker in 1984 when the artist was only 23 years old. The piece is what is left of the original snow scene fragment of the backdrop-- the rest was destroyed after the ballet finished. This piece is very important and sentimental to Cano because it was his first experience with art and theater, which later paved the way for him to become a performance artist-- a subject he is mainly known for: "He is best known for his enchanting marionettes created from found objects and debris, which are used as part of his performances as well as displayed as sculptures..." Provenance: Capital Bank
