(17) *** An excellent group of photobooks coming from the library of the influential picture editor John Morris. Morris (1916-2017) worked in senior picture roles at the Washington Post and the New York Times. While at the New York Times, he was instrumental in the publication of Eddie Adams' photograph of the South Vietnamese police official executing a Viet Cong prisoner and, four years later, for publishing Nick Ut's photograph of a naked Vietnamese girl fleeing a napalm attack. Both photographs were among the handful of best-known images to come from the war.
