      Henry Cammas thebes, karnak, 1860s Lightly Albumenised Salt Print from a Waxed Paper Negative, mounted on card, signed in ink below image, printed label 'Bas cotes de la grande salle Hypostile; elevation des colonnes - prise du sol actuel, 14 metres; diametre, 3 metre./Thebes. Karnak.' affixed to mount below image, blindstamp incorporating 'E.B.' on the mount, numbered '80' in ink on the reverse, 308 by 244mm Cammas, a member of the Societe Francaise de Photographie, was a non-resident member of the Egyptian Institute and photographed in Egypt, using the waxed paper negative process, in the 1860s. Provenance: Robert Hershkowitz, London, 1987.
