      This is an original watercolor painting by artist Edward Clarke Cabot (American 1818-1901). Cabot was an architect and watercolor painter. He designed the new building for the Boston Athenaeum between 1847 and 1849, and exhibited his paintings there in 1856. He was for many years a member of the Boston Art Club and the Boston Watercolor Society as well as an honorary member of the American Society of Painters in Watercolor. This framed painting features a charming scene of Gloucester, Massachusetts. It is titled View of Gloucester. Gallery provenance on the reverse. The frame is 18 1/2 x 16". The painting is 9 1/8 x 6".
