Erich Busslinger (b. 1949) Currently living in Basel, artist Erich Busslinger was born on the 2nd of December 1949 in Mellingen (Canton Aargau) in Switzerland. After studying art pedagogy and ethnology at the School of Design in Lucerne from 1972-75, Busslinger has ever since been active as visual artist, author and agent. He is predominately known as video artist, due to his movie ‘Inland Archiv’, and has often been awarded with scholarships. The diversity of medial means of expression like photography, lithography, painting, music, video and drawing is characteristically for his works. Many exhibitions took place in Switzerland and abroad, e.g. 1986 at the Aargauer Kunsthaus or 1988 at the Galerie Neue Räume in Berlin. Since 2000, Busslinger has been working as lecturer for video and project work at the Academy for Art and Design in Basel.
