      Hudson River School oil on canvas. Signed on stretcher James Burt 1843 and titled "On the Mohawk". Scene with a waterfall, mountain in the background and two trout fishermen in foreground at base of falls. Perhaps near the Trenton Falls, a waterfall on West Canada Creek in Trenton, New York. The West Canada Creek empties into the Mohawk River, which then flows into the Hudson before reaching the Atlantic Ocean. The Mohawk area stretches from Northwestern Massachusetts to Up State New York. Image 18 ½ inches x 26 ½”. Ornate gilt frame
