Renata Bryjanowska Art for Sale and Sold Prices

b. 1969 -

Renata Bryjanowska studied painting and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. In her painting, she uses simplified forms and elements, seeking to move the border of perception and expand the field of interpretation.

In the paintings created in this manner, the primary elements distort the clear-cut and unambiguous character of the depicted elements, at the same time becoming a part of the opposite process: the process of releasing and giving the abstraction a sense of reality. One reality becomes a commentary to the other one. The tensions between these incoherent values widen the space for their interpretation, provoking a search for various solutions.

What emerges from this conflict is ambiguity and the absurd. Building the space of an image out of simplified, symbolic or geometric elements is the artist's way to form an artistic narration and push the limits of perception. Regardless of the final shape, there is something cheerful in her creations, a promise of unlimited space opening in front of her.
