Margaret Farrell Bruno lives and paints on the Massachusetts South Shore. Being a native of the area, she grew up surrounded by the splendid coastline and luscious cranberry bogs, which have inspired her pastel landscapes.

Margaret’s vibrant style is influenced by her sensitivity to the use of color, light, and composition. Melding the ideals of realism and impressionism, her bold pastels respond to the energy and emotion of her subject matter. Margaret has always been and continues to be inspired by the works of such artists as William Merrit Chase, Edgar Payne, William Wendt, Joaquín Sorolla, Sargent, and Anders Zorn.

Margaret is an established artist who was formally educated at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and launched a three-pronged career as a fine artist, portraitist, and illustrator. She is a member of several art societies, including a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, Signature Member of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, Signature Member of the Connecticut Pastel Society, Juried Artist Member of the Cape Cod Art Association and the Portrait Society of America. She is a recent past President of the Board of Directors of the North River Arts Society.

Artist's Statement - “I am continually humbled and honored with the beauty of color and light whether it be on the soft face of a precious child or on a majestic landscape before me. I hope to always consider it a privilege, a blessing and a challenge to be inspired by that beauty.”
