Zomer en Winter, pendanten beide get. olieverf op doek (2), 13,5x19 cm ---------- Schilderijen door Colestin Brügner (1824-1887). Deze twee landschapsschilderijen komen uit het bezit van Heman Friedländer (1842-1920), een Zweedse handelaar en industrieel. Hij staat bekend als gepassioneerd kunstverzamelaar en genereuze mecenas. Kunstschilders en beeldhouwers uit zijn tijd, zoals Carl Larsson (1853-1919) en Anders Zorn (1860-1920), waren vrienden die hem vaak thuis bezochten. Samen met Zorn creëerde Friedländer het Carl Larsson Opleidings Fonds, dat nog steeds bestaat en wordt bestuurd door de Zweedse Kunstacademie. Friedländer legateerde zijn 19de-eeuwse Zweedse kunstcollectie aan het Zweedse Nationale Museum. De twee schilderijen door Colestin Brügner (1824-1887) die nu worden geveild, werden door Friedländer gekocht tijdens een reis naar Duitsland en Frankrijk. Zij hebben altijd gehangen in de hoofd woonkamer van zijn landhuis ‘Villa Björkudden’ (Rörsundanön, Nacka, Zweden). Het landhuis is in de jaren 1840-1850 gebouwd door Alfred Sandahl en in 1896 kreeg het de huidige uitstraling, door Friedländers schoonbroer, architect Erik Josephson (1864-1929). In 1934 werd het landhuis verkocht aan de Franse School en de Katholieke Zusters van Sint Jozef als een vakantieverblijf voor leraren. In de jaren 1990 werd het landhuis verkocht, evenals de nog aanwezige kunstwerken. De huidige eigenaar kocht hier beide schilderijen. Het landhuis vormde het decor voor de Zweedse film ‘Fanny en Alexander’ (1982), geschreven en geregisseerd door Ingmar Bergman (1918-2007). Tijdens het filmen bleef vrijwel de hele inboedel op dezelfde plaats staan; beide schilderijen zijn in vier scènes van de film zichtbaar aan de muur. Het landhuis is beschermd onder de Zweedse Monumentenzorg (k-märkt). Paintings by Colestin Brügner (1824-1887). These two landscape paintings have been in the possession of Herman Friedländer (1842-1920), Swedish merchant and industrial man. He was known as a devoted art collector and generous patron. Painters and sculptors of his time, such as Carl Larsson (1853-1919) and Anders Zorn (1860-1920), were close friends of his and often invited to his home. Friedländer with Zorn created the Carl Larsson Scholarship Fond which is managed by the Swedish Academy of Art. Friedländer bequeathed his 19th century Swedish art collection to the Swedish National Museum. The two paintings by Colestin Brügner (1824-1887) now for sale, were bought by Friedländer during a trip to Germany and France. They have been hanging in the main living-room of his home 'Villa Björkudden' (Rörsundanön, Nacka, Sweden). The house was built in the 1840-50's by Alfred Sandahl and was remodelled to its current appearance in 1896 by the brother-in-law of Friedländer, the architect Erik Josephson (1864-1929). In 1934 the house was sold to the French School and catholic St Joseph sisters as a home for teachers on vacation. In the 1990's the house was sold and so were the furnitures and art objects from the house. During this periode the paintings were bought by their current owner. This house was also the setting for the Swedish drama film written and directed by Ingmar Bergman (1918-2007): ''Fanny and Alexander" (1982). Not much was moved nor changed during the filming and that is why one can see the paintings hanging on the wall in 4 different scenes. The house has been set under Swedish preservation order (k-märkt).
