(29.5 x 49.8cm) Provenance Wiederseim Associates, Phoenixville, sale of November 24, 2012, lot 475. Acquired directly from the above sale. Collection of Dr. Douglas S. Holsclaw, Jr., Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. The relined canvas is in good overall condition. Craquelure is present throughout but stable. A 1" spot of inpainting is present at top center, along with thin lines and flecks at top left. Scattered flecks of inpainting are present across the sky. Holsclaw, Jr., Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. The relined canvas is in good overall condition. Light craquelure is present throughout but stable. Pinpoint spots of brown surface soiling are occasionally present in the sky but unobtrusive. Spots of inpainting ranging from 1/8 to 1/4" are present across the sky. A light green varnish is present but mostly degraded in teh sky. The foreground is heavily varnished inhibiting thorough reading under UV light. See Specialist's photos for details. Painting has large breaks in paint and areas of loss, but is good project, candidate for restoration / repair. Minor yellowing of varnish. Painting was in a fire but not directly burned, minor moisture damage. Signed in lower right corner (partial). Framed in gilt wood frame with name plate. Minor wears of loss / wear on frame. Painting measures 11 3/4" wide by 6 3/4" tall (opening), 12 1/4" wide by 7 1/2" tall (canvas), and 22" wide by 17" tall by 3' deep (frame).
