An unusual subject of the artist and therefore even more charming for the art enthusiast. The painting is in good condition considering its age. It is signed lower right ‘H. Brispot’. Beneath, there are traces of a primal eliminated old signature visible. A number of tiny pin holes are placed in the corners of the canvas. The wooden frame is in good condition with only light traces of age and use. The framed work measures 71 x 54 cm and the size of the stretcher is 56.5 x 76 cm. Henri Brispot (1846-1928) The artist Henri Brispot was born in Beauvais and became a student of Bonnat. He established as a genre painter and his works were often reproduced as prints. Until 1927, the artist regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon. He was honored with a number of medals, such as the silver medal of the world exhibition in 1889. Works by Brispot are successfully traded on the international art market. (cbo) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
